On October 1, 2008, Special Olympics Massachusetts held the groundbreaking for their new 20,000 square foot headquarters in Marlborough, Massachusetts, to be called the Yawkey Sports Training Center.  It will house executive offices along with support facilities to accommodate up to 800 coaches, volunteers, and staff who will attend educational and training seminars. There will be 4,000 square feet of flexible classroom space that will allow for fundraising and banquet functions.
